| Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? My cousin and her two girls(7,10)are coming to visit for several weeks this summer from Hawaii(so the Jersey shore is OUT!). We are thinking of planning a 2 or 3 day trip somewhere. Which would be better-Hershey or Busch Gardens??It would be her and her 2, myself and my daughter(8). Any suggestions on hotels? Thanks so much!!!! |

| Re: Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? Well, I haven't been to Hersheypark since the early 80's but I do remember it being tons of fun. Busch Gardens though is just about an hour east of me and we go all the time! LOVE IT, and in fact, I think it's the best theme park in America outside of Disney. 4 world class coasters - Apollo's Chariot (210 ft steel HYPER coaster), Alpengiest (mega Inverted looping coaster), Loch Ness Monster (steel looping with interlocking loops - a classic!) and Big Bad Wolf (suspended non-looping coaster that makes a mad dash through a village and down to the river for the finale!). Tons of other great rides, too like Escape from Pompeii, DaVinci's Cradle, and Roman Rapids. The European theming is outstanding and attention to detail very Disneyesque! Good places to eat (for a theme park), too. Also, there is quite a lot do to for the kids! Just a great all around park! Good luck! |

| Re: Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? I bumped up my mini report from last summer titled Lessons learned day trip to Hershey Park. I've been to both - Hershey's is alot closer but I'd have to say I'd prefer Busch Gardens if you don't mind the 6-8 hour drive to get there. Busch Gardens has got animals, coasters and rides, Clydesdales and shows and a beer brewery. Lots of theming. Hershey has a lot of rides and a sea lion show and a chocolate factory. It's a nice park if you just want rides all day. We didn't get to see all of it in one day - the place is huge. |

| Re: Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? Just a heads up that Janet's post reminded me of - sadly, Anheuser Busch closed the brewery tour a couple of years ago which really is a shame because not only was it incredibly intereseting, they gave out free samples at the end!! | Re: Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? I go to both on at least a yearly basis as well. In fact, my family is in Hershey right now! Here's my take: Hersheypark is very nice but Busch Gardens is awesome and much more of a several day jaunt. I agree with everything posted here and also Colonial Willimsburg is right there as well and is really nice!! Have fun deciding. Tara |

| Re: Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? Steve, that would be totally awesome! My kids might scare yours a little, though. They are VERY outgoing, to put it mildly! We usually travel down that way sometime over the summer. I'm not sure exactly when this year, but if you are serious, I will gladly let you know! Tara BTW, I really miss the beer tour ,too! It wasn't just the two beers at the end, it was the whole tour thing! |

| Re: Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? HA!! LOL!! My kids are the same way - they've got a pretty extroverted wild dad to keep up with, are you kidding?!? Let us know, b/c that would be so fun! How old are your kids again? Mine are 5,7,10. |

| Re: Hershey Park or Busch Gardens, Will.??? Ooops! LOL!! I forgot my two eldest 34 (me, but not for long) and 35! HA! THAT was funny! And my children LOVE the coasters - well Josh would if he were tall enough, but he STILL talks about Space Mountain and Tower of Terror (his favorite!), so he's our thrill seeker in the making!
