WHOO!! I'm *finally* going to Cedar Point in August. Many of you will remember that I was all set to go last year the weekend after the Sept 11th attacks but I couldn't bring myself to get on a plane so soon after that. Look out Sandusky, Ohio....here I come!!

Re: WHOO!! Cool! You'll love it - have you sent away for their Fun Guide? You need to get one, they've got discount coupons for various types of admission, a map of the park and a good list of places to eat - kind of the Passporter to Cedar Point if you will. Are you going to stay at one of their properties? I'd encourage you to because you literally can look out your windows to the park and walk to the park, too! And - Cedar Point let's you in 1/2 hour early to ride select rides if you are a resort guest. We stayed at the Sandcastle Suites. I mean they aren't Disney resorts, but the are nice, clean large standard Marriott/Hyatt type rooms. We went in 2000 when Millenium Force was brand new - whoa, just incredible. And new this year is Wicked Twister - an "impulse" coaster. Good for you - you'll have a blast - literally! [ 06-08-2002, 10:00 AM: Message edited by: Dadtojbj ]

Re: WHOO!! Hey - that is good to know - we stayed with friends in Cuyahoga Falls one year when we went and I'll tell you - GET THERE EARLY! Seriously, the traffic is an issue and the causeway backs up. And if you can pre-purchase your tickets at all that would help tremendously in cutting down time. I'd to the Disney thing - plan on being at the front gate 1 hour prior to official opening time - they often "open early" and if you happen to be going on a Saturday the coaster lines will all be 1-2 hours+. That was our experience on a Saturday visit - but in 2000 we went during the week and it was GREAT - the only real lines to speak of were for Millenium Force! ENJOY! Let me know if you cannot get a hold of that guide - I seriously doubt we'll make it up there this year and I'd be happy to send you the coupons out of mine!

Re: WHOO!! Thanks for the info Steve. I'll have to request one of those fun guides. Fortunately, Jason and I are going to visit friends that live in the area so we're staying with them. Jason isn't big on rides so he'll just have to wait for me while I get my thrills LOL!
