Paramount\'s Kings Dominion to add 305 foot free fall for 2003! Well, I am finally excited over something that one of our local parks is putting in next year! A 305 foot spiralling freefall drop ride! Who wants to go on with me?!? http://www.coasterbuzz.com/news/news.asp?NewsID=4107

Re: Paramount\'s Kings Dominion to add 305 foot free fall for 2003! Well, Beaner, head on down next summer! I really am excited about this new ride - Busch Gardens and King's Dominion have added rather lackluster attractions over the past 3 seasons after spoiling us for a few years in a row. I don't even think Busch Gardens has anything new for this year (but still quite the awesome park!) [ 06-21-2002, 08:09 AM: Message edited by: Dadtojbj ]

Re: Paramount\'s Kings Dominion to add 305 foot free fall for 2003! Wow! That sounds really cool! I know you don't care for this park, Steve, but we like it alot! My kids always ask to go here as well as Busch Gardens when we head down to Va. I'll have to show this to them-wow again!

Re: Paramount\'s Kings Dominion to add 305 foot free fall for 2003! Hey Steve, We are going next weekend to KD. My daughter is going to love seeing this news. She should be called a KDD instead of a DD, lol. She got a Season Pass for graduation. Her and her friends go about every other weekend. How close are you to there? Is there any nice but cheat places to stay the night? I hate that they drive down and back all in a day. AngelaVA

Re: Paramount\'s Kings Dominion to add 305 foot free fall for 2003! Hey Angela! I know I am not Steve, but I may be able to answer your question on a place to stay. We go once a year and our favorite hotel is a Holiday Inn in Fredericksburg. We love the indoor pool and restaurant there. I am trying to get a hold of my husband to get you the address. It is very close to King's Dominion. Tara Actually, when I talked to my husband he reminded me that last year, we stayed at the Best Western right on the property and it was pretty nice. There is a Denny's attached and you can literally walk over to King's Dominion. Hope this helps! Best Western [ 06-21-2002, 10:16 AM: Message edited by: Tara McCusker ]

Re: Paramount\'s Kings Dominion to add 305 foot free fall for 2003! There a two hotels right next to the park. We stayed in one a couple years ago.....that was not so nice. Only good spot was the free breakfast. It is across the street from the park (I;ll try to figure out which it was so you can avoid it). The other looked much better from the outside and was on the same side of the street as the park. Also there is a campground next to the park if you want to camp. -HiddenMickey OK-- I looked it up online......STAY AWAY from the Days Inn-Carmel Church. The one next to the park is Best Western King's Quarters. [ 06-21-2002, 10:15 AM: Message edited by: HiddenMickey ]

Re: Paramount\'s Kings Dominion to add 305 foot free fall for 2003! Hey all - I don't mean to bash Kings Dominion - it does have a lot of fun rides, but there are some VERY scary people there and just having to walk through metal detectors to get into an amusement park is a little unerving. It's a fairly unclean park and also, the new rides they've added, while fun, are VERY low capacity and results in extreme lines. Busch Gardens has really, really spoiled us, but my kids just love PKD (I guess I've become an amusement park snob! ). Anyway, to answer your question, we are about 25 minutes southwest of PKD in the Far Wwest end of Richmond. There are NUMEROUS hotels in the Innsbrook office park area and I know the Holiday Inn that Tara speaks of - my parents live just West of Fredericksburg. Good luck!
