Potter County

Well my daughter and I will be leaving July 4 and returning July 7 from Potter County. My dad has a camper there we will be staying in the camper. My sister and husband are going and also my brother and his wife so it going to be a little family get together, Saturday night going to fireworks and carnival. This is the first I been there since my daughter was about 1 or 2 years old and she is now 15 so it will be nice to revisit and see how everything changed.

Where is Potter County? Is that really where Harry Potter came from? Sorry, just had to say it!

Re: Potter County

kadterp,

Potter County is in the northern tier of Pa. It borders NY state. It is in the middle of nowhere. I mean that in a nice way since I live one county over in Tioga. Coudersport is the co. seat. Have you ever heard of Aldophia (sp?) communications. Coudersport is their headquarters. There are interstates in the co. The major route is US RT 6.

Theresa,

Where in Potter Co will you be going? Are you going to Galton to the fireworks? Their's are the best.

Re: Potter County

You're right Bert & Sully. Tioga Co. PA is west of Tioga Co. Ny. We used to watch Binghamton News when I was growing up and I was always confused when they talked about Tioga Co. (NY). Tioga Co Pa borders Steuben Co. NY. (Corning). Potter Co. is the next co over to our west. Does this help any?

Re: Potter County

Yes. Whenever we want to go to the mall we always go to the Arnot Mall and all the strip malls around it. We're about 1 hr. from there.

When you moved did you take 13 to Elmira and then 14 to Williamsport? If so you missed Tioga Co. completely. You went through Troy and Canton which are in Bradford Co. How's that for a geography lesson of the day?

Re: Potter County

Marcie,

Hate to correct you but it's not Watson Glen. It's Watkins Glen. Did you ever hike the Glen? I did once. From bottom to top. Not the smartest way to do it.

Watkins Glen is home to one of the NASCAR races. Used to be Bud at the Glen but the name has been changed and I don't remember what it is now. The race I think is in August.
