Peaks of Otter

Anyone been to the Peaks of Otter? It's on the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Bedford, VA. I just love this place, and now trying to convince DH we need to go there...soon! Anyone who can help me here? (He's holding out due to the name. ) He's never been, but has seen my pics and agrees it is beautiful.

Re: Peaks of Otter

Check out the NPS site for Peaks of Otter:
http://www.nps.gov/blri/peaks.htm
Nearby is Smith Mountain Lake and the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford. So is Shennandoah Nat'l Park (at the start of the Blue Ride Parkway).

Another good source of info is Blue Ridge Country magazine:
http://www.blueridgecountry.com/index.htm
They have a great calendar of events section for all of the Blue Ridge plus lots of other interesting information.

Enjoy.
