Travelling solo

I'm travelling solo to WDW for the first time next year. I know room rates are based on double occupancy, so what does that mean for a solo traveller? Will a room cost more than the posted rates? Any tips for a solo traveller?

Re: Travelling solo

When a rate is posted as double occupancy - it just means that the rate of the room is split between two people. So to answer your question - you are not paying more for a room at WDW if you are traveling solo. I love going to Disney Solo - you get to see the attractions you want at the pace you want to go at! Re: Travelling solo

When a package is quoted as double occupancy, it means that two people must occupy the room. Room rates (not packages) are quoted per night, not per person.

Re: Travelling solo

You will pay the posted rates at the hotels (for example: if the rate says the hotel only is $125 per night then you will pay $125.) If you look at Disney's package advertising ( for example: $599 per person for a family of four) -- you will pay more than $599. Note: these are made up numbers, I didn't pull real ones

When I travel alone I typically carry a small paperback book with me to read while waiting in lines, dining, etc.... Often I'll find someone I enjoy talking to and strike up a conversation, but just in case it's nice to stay occupied when you are on your own.
