Transfer reservations?

I've read that after you've booked onboard the cruise ships, to "transfer" the reservation to your TA. What does this mean? What are the pros and cons? Thanks for your answer.

Re: Transfer reservations?

A lot of people will book their future cruise onboard to take advantage of the special money saving deals for booking future cruises. They will then have their reservations transfered to their TA so that they can get the benefits of dealing with a TA (i.e. dealing with the same person all the time, having someone watch their reservations, having a reminder to book Palo, someone who will book their excursions etc.) To transfer your reservation is actually very simple. Just call your TA with your reservation number and we will take care of the rest. I hope that helps.

Re: Transfer reservations?

Marisa, I haven't had anyone book onboard, yet. Don't they transfer automagically if you booked through an agent for the cruise you're on at the time? I know RCI and Carnival both do that.

Re: Transfer reservations?

Hi Dillon! Unfortunately- No, Disney does not automatically transfer the reservation to us like some other cruise lines do. You have to call. I guess Disney doesn't want to assume the client wants to use the same TA. Your client can mention you to the onboard booking agent and your reservation should transfer then though. I still call anyway- I have had a few reservations not transfer.

Re: Transfer reservations?

Thanks Marisa
Unfortunately when we were on the Magic in December we were foolish not to rebook until we came home. We got a great deal from a "warehouse travel agency" but noticed that you don't get your own TA. Each time we call it's someone new. We are booked on the Wonder for next Jan.2008 and will most likey rebook onboard. Now I know about the transfer process, I will certainly look into finding a personal TA and have my reservation transferred.
Have a Magical day!
