Question Adding DDP to an existing ressie

I have a room only reservation for August with a AAA discount, 7 day PH w/ Water Park and more tickets purchased through my DH's work with great discount. My question is can I add the DDP without losing my AAA discount on the room? I know that I have to buy at least one day of park passses (going to add another day when we arrive anyway), but does it need to be as a package with the room? Does this make sense? If you have any idea what the cost would be, that would help too, there are four of us all adult prices. I'm just not sure that the DDP is worth it for us, but want to cover all my options. Thanks so much!

The only way to keep your reservation with a AAA discount and get the dining plan is to have a AAA travel agent take over the reservation and convert it to a Magic Your Way Plus Dining package. Disney direct can not give a AAA discount on a package. AAA can take it over with your written permission and then you will be entitled to the AAA discount on the room portion as well as all the Disney and AAA package perks like the Diamond Card and the Storytime.

If you decide to do this, you wil be getting park tickets in the package as well. You could do a one day ticket, but remember: The longer the ticket (in days) the better the deal per day.

You can get a quote by calling your local AAA office, not Disney. If it's something you decide to do, then the AAA agent will let you know how to get the paperwork taken care of.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Jennifer, I know that the longer the ticket, the better the deal, but AAA can't beat the price I can get on tickets. My DH works for GM and they get a deal because of the association with Test Track. I'm just thinking the savings on food may make up for the cost of paying for a one day ticket. I'll give them a call and see what they can do.

I just talked to my AAA agent and I'm quite surprised! Getting the 1 day base w/ DDP and purchasing my tickets separate was quite a bit more through her. If I do the whole package, hotel, 8 day hopper w/ options and DDP, it is about $135 less! Do you get a better room discount or ticket discount w/ a package? When she gave me the AAA ticket prices alone, they were about $20 more per ticket than what I can get. I'm just very curious how the package works, I've never done one before and it feels weird to have the control out of my hands. I haven't booked with her yet, but she has it on hold and I think it will be nice to have the DDP and get it all paid for before we go, especially for less $$!
