Booking for 2008 Marathon

I know that the rates for 2008 are not available as of yet, but I am registered to run the Full Marathon in January and have heard that the hotels fill up fast during Marathon weekend. I will be down at WDW from August 2-9, should I inquire about booking while I'm down there for January? Or would it be best to go ahead and secure a room now and maybe make any changes needed later? Also, we are planning on going back later next year for Mousefest 2008 and doing the Land/Sea package. Are annual passes a better way to go since we are definitely going twice in the same year? Or are the tickets included if I book a marathon package or the Land/Sea package? I'm kind of wondering where to start?

I seem to remember dates&rates coming out the first Tuesday in August. If you just want to book a room, you should be able to do it now. They'll quote you the current rate, but that rate will change. If you want a package, you'll have to wait. You could get your TA all lined up to make the reservation for you the day WDW announces.

Annual Passes are good to buy if you will be going into the parks at least more then 10 days. If you are only going for Marathon Weekend and a few days in December it may not pay. Tickets are not included with Marathon Packages but they ARE included with the land/ sea packages. Sometimes though it is more inexpensive to book the land and sea package seperately so you may want to do that. Also- as of now (although I have hear rumors this might change) if you are at all interested in getting the dining plan on land you will have to book them seperately as you can not get the dining plan with the land/ sea package.

I hope that doesn't confuse you more. Feel free to ask other questions.
