2 pre trip questions

As I'm right at 50 days until I leave for the world. I have two questions for all the TAs out there.

1) Using DME for the first time. I've heard that the tags should arrive anywhere from 20 - 45 days before I leave. If, by some chance, I don't get them, can I still use DME? I'm presuming I'll have to claim my own baggage.

2) Found a great rate for a rental car through an advertised website. If I decide not to use DME and use the rental, do I need to contact my TA and let them know?

Thanks for everyones help.

Hi Bob,

Both great questions.

1) You can claim your own luggage at baggage claim. Then go directly to Disney Welcome Center, located on B side , Level 1. You will be responsable for taking your own luggage on the motor coach. ~ OR ~

You can proceed directly to the Disney Welcome Center. A Disney representative will collect all your information IE: Airline baggage claim check. Then Disney will deliver your baggage for you.

2) If you use another way to travel to your resort. Simply do not place your tags on your luggage before leaving home.

One point to keep in mind, if you don't already know - ME can take up to 2hrs to deliver your bags to your room. It's a fantastic service, and it's great you don't have to bother with your bags; but if you have medicines, might need a change of clothing/ swimsuit, etc. - make sure you bring them on the bus with you. (First time we used ME, we ended up going to the park in our heavier clothing - wasn't fun.)

Also - Canadians need to be mindful of international check in times for the return flight home - could be a long advance time needed to use the ME bus back to the airport.
