| I'm not sure if this this is the correct place to post this. If not, please feel free to move it! My family and I are supposed to be leaving for our vacation to WDW October 3rd. My father, mother, sister, and her boyfriend are joining me, my husband, and 2 daughters. My father's mom fell down and wacked her head hard a day and a half ago. She has some bleeding in her brain in the back left portion. They are currently monitoring her at the best head trauma unit we have in Massachusetts. Details are sketchy right now, but it looks like they have to monitor her for awhile. My question is, does anyone know what WDW's policy is for family emergencies? As of this morning, my dad still wants to go. But if her conditions worsens, we will have to postpone. My dad is the health care proxy (sp?). So I guess I just need some advice and some pixies! Thank You!

| for complete healing. As for cancellations, you may be out of luck unless you chose to add the travel insurance when you booked. You can face penalties from the first nights lodging, to a couple hundred dollars (depending on what you booked.) In addition, the airlines, will charge you a fee to transfer to another flight (or worse depending on the type of fare and the airline). (I am NOT a TA, just read the refund policies in PP and in my travel packages) ![]()

| Not a TA either. From what I understand....if you POSTPONE....that is set up new dates when you are cancelling your current trip, you MAY not get charged any fees. I'd call and talk to WDTC about it before making any decisions. Like she said above, the airlines are another matter. Pixies to you guys ![]()

| Personally, what I advise clients to do if something comes up and they are not able to take the vacation they booked is to just play with the dates. Even if you are not 100% sure when you will be able to go, just push the dates out. When you have a definite date in mind, call and change the plans again. If the price of the package goes up or stays the same, Disney normally doesn't charge a change fee. On a personal note, we were supposed to go to Disney in 2004. A couple months before our trip, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. There would be no way we could go (ironically, he received his last chemo treatment the day we were to of left for Disney). I changed my dates, one whole year out....and the next year, not only did we take our week.......I added a second one to it!
