Huge difference. HIGH season is around Christmas. On Maui, it's any time from about mid November to late April, also known as whale season. Low season is from about mid September to early November, although there are some local variations. For instance, it's high season on the Big Island right now. Iron Man Triathalon.

Earlier this year, American had a special on air, through November 14th. The choice of flights was not what I'd call the best, but if you wanted to fly from Austin to Kona for $600 a person, maybe you could live with it.

I was just looking at our favorite condos on Maui and they had a summer special this year that was 20% off.

Consider a condo. We get a two bedroom and have plenty of space, a living room and full kitchen, as well as a very nice bedroom. And we figure we save about $20 a day on breakfast and for some trips we pack a lunch. And at least one night during our stay we'll grill something like mahi-mahi, ahi or ono-ono.
