how early?

Just exactly how far out can you contact a TA for arranging a trip? Obviously they can't do anything for you in airfare until those get released right? So how does that work?

Depends on where you want to go. Are you just talking airfare wise?

Sorry, its for a Disney trip. I don't plan on going until Nov 2009. I don't need park tickets, just adding the ddp to my room and the AP's I already have, but I want to split my stay into 2 resorts.

The 2009 room rates and packages aren't out yet. Most travel agents do not book airfare for clients unless it is part of a package. So a TA could book your airfare for you through Disney but that is often not the best deal for you in terms of price or flights. But to answer your question, you can contact a TA at any time and they should be able to at least set a reminder for themselves to contact you when the rates are released. Also, keep in mind that adding the Dining Plan to an AP Room Only reseravtion makes it a package and subject to package policies - $200 deposit, balance due 45 days prior to your trip, etc. Good luck!

It never hurts to talk to a TA well in advance of a trip. And it's pretty cheap. I typically charge anywhere from $0 to $0 for most trip planning.

I would suggest contacting your agent if you have a great one and have him/her notify you when the pricing is in.

I personally keep a file on my desk and a list in my Outlook calendar so I can get them all set as soon as pricing is in. Ask you agent if they have a similar system.

Still tapping my fingers on Spring 2009...waiting...waiting LOL...
