Question With fuel costs down, what does this mean for airfare?

Since the cost of fuel is on the decline, what do you think will be in store for airfare for the future?

My guess is airfare will not go down. They have a lot of losses to make up.

I agree with Don. They were going up before this Spring's price rocket. The airlines are mothballing planes. So less supply, the same or more demand, prices have to go up. Now, with lots of us spending less money ...

I don't know. Initially, when we booked our cruise, I intended to fly. When I saw the price of the air ($1700 for 4 people!!), I could not justify the cost of the airfare! Driving, even with the gas at more than $4 per gl., was a better option. When prices dropped, we got airfare for $1036.00 I was very happy. Southwest lowered fares again...I modified my flights...........and now we are paying $960.00! Yes, airlines need to make up money but there is really only one way to fill a plane!
