When to contact at TA for 2010 WDW trip?

We are planning a WDW trip in either Feb. or March of 2010. The 2010 rates and packages are not available yet but when is it a good time to contact a TA to get the plans started???

Thanks!!!

You can contact a TA now and if you have a good TA they will waitlist your request and contact you as soon as the rates are released. Otherwise, if you are looking to book a package, historically, packages have been released the first Sunday in August so contacting about that time works too.

At this time you can book a Room Only Reservation for check in 500 days from your check out date. The price would be based on 2009 Peak Season Rack Rates. Booking a RO Reservation now isn't entirely necessary as the chances of your resort selling out prior to the packages being released is slim to not at all.

The 2010 package rates should be released around the first week of August. You can book a room-only now if you are within 499 days of arrival. If you are going during a busy season/school vacation weeks, etc. then booking a room only now is a smart idea to make sure you get your choice of resort. If you are not going during one of the busy times then you could wait until the 2010 package rates are released.

Makes me a bit nervous to book a room only reservation until the rates and/or packages are out as we are hoping to stay at the Poly if the costs are not increased much and a great promotion comes around. If we can't afford it, then we will have to choose a different resort anyway. I know the Poly is popular and we are looking at possibly the 1st week of March..........is that a time when we would have to worry about booking really early or would we have breathing room to wait until Aug. or Sept??? This all just makes us crazy!!!!

You should be fine waiting if you are looking at that week in March. The winter breaks in Feb and the Spring/Easter breaks in March/April are the ones you need to worry about. You should book what you can afford - without any discounts and offers. Then, if an offer is out that you can use you could either just save the money or upgrade resorts, packages, etc. By booking to your affordability level at least you'll know that you can go and if a great offer comes along it'll be icing on the cake
