| myfavoritemouse.com Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me any info. on myfavoritemouse.com? The reason I ask is that I think I might work for them. I sent in a resume and they sent me a letter back offering me a position and now I am supposed to start training. I'm very excited as this would be my dream job but I just wanted to know if anyone has any info. on the company. I looked it up online to see if I could find any good or bad feedback about the company but I didn't see anything. Any info. would be very much appreciated, thank you! I do know that it is commission only and that's OK because I can work from home and I already plan all my family, friends, and co-workers trips for them, only now I would make some money doing it. |

| I'm not familiar with the company. Is it a travel agency? ETA: A little research shows it as a division of GalaxSea, an agency that someone else recently asked about. You can find our answers regarding them here: Confirm Legitimacy of Travel Company You say you sent in a resume and they sent you a letter. Did you ever have an interview? Speak with someone in person? You say you "think" you might work for them. Right there is a pretty big red flag for me. ![]()

| I'm calling tomorrow for an interview, they sent me another e-mail today to call and who I would speak with. I saw that they are under the cruise name also. Thank you for the information, I will keep you posted to see what happens. Thanks again! |

| Have they asked you for any money? Like, say, $499? I'd ask some serious questions of them. What are the fees? How much is E&O insurance (that's errors and omissions, basically, if someone sues you for some perceived wrong) and what are the deductibles and limits? What kind of training do you get? What kind of support? What was the 2008 sales and how did it break down? (cruises, AIs, Disney, Vegas, Europe, Asia and others would be my choices). How much was the average commission per agent for the year? How much was the average sales volume per agent? What was the agent turnover? What percent of the agents qualified for an IATAN card last year? Sara, anyone. Other questions?

| WOW! These are great questions, thank you so much. There is only a $50 layout for cards and I'm not sure of any ins. at this time. I think it is basically just a name to go under and you (meaning me) do all the sales and solicitations. They supply basically a name and brochures and things like that but I think it's basically I'm on my own. They do have mandatory but complimentary training that must be done. You do not have to sell a set amount of vacations in a certain amount of time but the more you do book than the more perks you get. Sounds pretty good to me, I'm going to have my interview soon and I have written down all the questions, so thank you again and I'll keep you posted. |

| Who handles the paperwork and collects the commissions? Do they have an ARC/IATA/CLIA number? You will also need to establish a separate checking account for the business. Check local regulations for other requirements, like a "doing business as" (dba). These are things a good host agency should tell you.

I have only been a TA for 2 years, but this sent up a red flag to me. Like Dillon mentioned what about CLIA/IATA numbers. Do they have a list of suppliers they already do business with?

| OK, I just had my phone interview, everything seems good, no layout of $$ except $50 to make up the business cards and no insurance because I would be working under myfavoritemouse.com. The only question I have is she said that the commission is approx. 10% of the trip goes to the company and I would get 1/2 of that. Does that seem about average? Thank you! |

| Everything is going along well with this company, but just one question? I just really want to do Disney vacations, WDW, DL, DCL, etc. and this company does cruises and other destinations, do all Disney travel agencies require that you also do other destinations? Is there a travel agency that does just Disney? Someone my sister works with suggested mouse fan travel, he deals with them at magic meets so I looked around on this website and realized that they are very well known around here! Any information would be very much appreciated, and thank you for the info. you've already shared. |

| Are they paying for the insurance for you 100%, or do you mean you will not have insurance at all? That's a huge problem IMHO!

| First, thank you for some direction, I am very new to all this. I asked about every question that was brought up here, about the insurance, she said that I would not need it myself because I would be working under them. She also said that I could focus on Disney but she also seems to be pushing the cruises a lot because of my location. I live on Long Island, NY so the ports for NYC and NJ are very close to me, but as I said I would like to concentrate on Disney because that is definitly my calling. THank you again for your time and anything else you think of. |

On the insurance, have they come out an said you are covered under their E&O insurance or that you just don't need it? That is so important. Get it in writing, if something goes wrong..... My host agency also lets me choose what I want to sell. I specialize in Disney Destinations, but in this economy I won't turn anything away. Good luck to you.

| Yes, that I would be covered under their insurance and to get my own would not be necessary, she was impressed about the questions I was asking, thanks to the passporter. Thank you for the info.! |

| You NEED insurance!! Check on this part for sure and get it in writing as tndisneyfam posted! I would never work in this business without having E&O insurance. I would specifically ask - "am I covered by you (the host agency) or do I need to obtain my own policy." If they say you are covered under them you really should have that in writing. If you are only paying $50 for cards it sounds like you may have to get your own policy. Definitely ask about this.
