| accommodation for family reunion This is my first time asking a question in this forum, so I hope this one's okay. I have been put in charge of planning a family reunion for 8 adults and 7 children. I'm not sure where to start looking for a place that meets our needs. We would like rooms that would accommodate a family of 6 and one of 4 but needing more than 2 beds. We would also like the place to include meals so we wouldn't have the hassle of preparing food. The last consideration is location. We have family in KY, GA and AL, so we would like it somewhat centrally located. Does anyone know how I can go about finding a place like that? We just stayed at High Hampton Inn in NC and it! I was just wondering if there was anything else like that. You can PM me if that would be easier. Thanks!! I forgot to mention that we'd be happy to work with a TA, but haven't found any locally that could help us. Last edited by dluvsdisney; 06-08-2009 at 07:59 AM.. |

| Dacy, last things first. There are many of us here who can work with you. In fact, the vast majority of TAs are now "remote". In fact, as far as I can tell, none of the TAs I've seen here works for a brick&mortar agency (also known as a store front agency). Find someone you trust and can work with. First question second. Realistically, your only choice might be the family suites at All Star Music. The problem is, there are a limited number available and they have few, if any, discounts available. You might talk to your agent about connecting rooms as a possible solution (connecting is not adjoining).

| Book more than one room I know the ideal would be for the family of 6 to stay in the same room. But have you ever thought of trying two rooms at the value resorts or any other resort that would hold 4 per room. I tend to suggest this to larger families because frankly Disney is not as budget conscious for larger families. You would have one parent and two children per room and then you would also have more beds and more bathrooms, which is always a plus. The villas are great but a little pricey, the Fort Wilderness Cabins will also accomodate six people. I hope this helps you with your decision. Good luck with your planning and do find a good agent to assist you and make your life easier. |
