Disney Adventures

I am planning to have the family vacation next year to Glacier Park area and noticed that there are tours on Disney Adventures. However, the cost for an adult is over $3000 without airfare. We have two kids who fit the adult category (14 and 16) and there is no way we could pay $12000 to Disney and pay for airfare and extras.

What are the chances of any discounts? What do they do about families of four with older kids for housing? I just don't see how people can afford to travel with Disney. Any insight into the Disney Adventures system would be great. Thanks.

Hi Suzi,

It's rare but not unheard for Adventures by Disney to offer discounts. It all depends on how the tours are selling. What sets Adventures by Disney apart is well, the Disney difference! The attention to details, the exclusive events, the quality of the lodging, etc. As far as accomodations, your family would be in a 'quad' room with sleeping for 4. This may be two beds or possibly a pull out depending on the hotel.

For example, on the Taming the Last Frontier (the itinerary you mentioned) the accomodations include Sophie Station, the Grand Denali Lodge and The Hotel Alyeska. It includes 7 breakfasts, 6 lunches and 4 dinners. But the best part is the experiences - getting up close with Alaskan Sled Dogs, a Glacier Cruise, riding the Alaska Railroad, etc. All of these are included in your cost! Having exceptional, experienced tour guides (often locals) adds to the experience.

I tend to think of the Adventures by Disney trips as being closer to a cruise than other vacations. But it's better than a cruise because all your shore excursions are already planned and paid for! But you're right - you are paying a premium for the Disney name and service.

Adventures by Disney no doubt offers amazing experiences to travelers, but the prices don't fit everyone's budget. Like Sara said, you just never know when a special offer or promotion will be released for the tours.

I book a lot of land tours with Globus and its family of brands. They are an exceptional company and provide great service across a variety of different travel styles. If you are looking for an alternative to an Adventures by Disney tour, I'd encourage you to check out Globus.
