| Wanting to become a travel agent..advice needed I have always wanted to become a travel agent...particularly specializing in WDW, which is what I know best. My goal is to be able to take the Disney College of Knowledge exam. I'm almost ready to choose the school I want (would be an at-home at your own pace type course). At the end of the course, I will be given a certificate to allow me to sit and take the TAP exam. Upon successfully completing the exam, I would be able to graduate. Upon graduation, I would receive the Travel Institute Designation Specialist Course Certificate. So, my question is...is this enough to entitle me to go ahead and partake in the Disney College of Knowledge program and exam? I've read that in order to take that exam, I need to have an IATA or CLIA #, which I'm not sure how to obtain (or what they even are or what they stand for). Would I need to obtain them by taking additional courses than what I had listed above? Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated. Would like to know all there is to know in order to do this and what others have done to accomplish becoming a travel agent and passing Disney College of Knowledge, etc. If there is a better way to achieve this, please let me know. Thanks!

| Those numbers can be quite expensive for home agents. Some have minimum bookings to remain active also. I would suggest looking into OSSN and obtaining a TRUE number. If you are just getting started you could also find an agent and try be an outside sales agent. You might have to share some commision, but get alot experience and knowledge before you jump in all the way.
