airfare question! My family of 5 is meeting with another family group of 5 on Jan. 1, 2001 for a 6 day vacation at WDW......I have been on the internet for months researching airfares for 12-31-00 (arriving) and departing on 1-7-01. I just read on another post that airfares are at their hightest between Christmas and New Year's day - is this really correct? If so - should I just take what I can get at this point....or is there a possiblity that airfares will be going down? Especially on New Year's Eve day? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Re: airfare question! Luvsun- Jean can probably give you better advice than I can, but I always travel that time of year. I fly to Charlotte anywhere from 12/22 to 12/24 and I fly home on 1/1. I'm constantly checking airfares, but usually find the best rate in September. I can usually get a fairly good rate, (between 225 & 250) which isn't bad for Charlotte that time of year. It's a tough call. As of right now, some of the travel sites are advertising specials through 12/15, so I'm hoping that there will be a next sale that will be through the holiday season. Have you ever considered bidding for your flight? Take care- Laura "When you wish..........

Re: airfare question! Laura has good insight on this. Sometimes it's a crap shoot for betting fares will go down during certain dates. I have a lot of clients going at that time and we are all waiting as long as we dare to hold out for a lower fare. Watch the travel sites like a hawk and be prepared to jump on it immediately if a decent fare pops up.My advise for that time of year, don't be greedy and hold out for a rock bottom fare or you could be in trouble. I sure wish I had a crystal ball!! ------------------ Jean magicaljourneys@swbell.net Upcoming Trips: 9/22/00 - Dolphin/Boardwalk Inn/Disney Wonder/Yacht Club 12/1/00 - Poly/Portofino Bay 6/2001 - Shades of Green
