POR.... Your Suggestion

Hi Jean. We have ressies for POR January. Do you suggest I call to change or wait until they contact me?
Thanks for your help.

Re: POR.... Your Suggestion

Hunny Pot: {Love that name!} If it was me [this is just my opinion] I would book a second reservation at another resort and hold on to see if Disney offers a special rate on a deluxe. It didn't happen when POFQ closed but people are raging about this and they really need to pacify folks. Do not expect however to get a deluxe for the same price as a moderate, but the discount if offered would be substantial. What they do is give the best rate available for your timeframe. In other words if you have an AP rate at a moderate they will offer an AP rate as a deluxe. If you have a code rate at a moderate they will offer a code rate at a deluxe. If you are paying full rate at the moderate they will offer a code rate on a deluxe, does that make sense?? My head is spinning! This does not mean that that is what they will do, only what they can do.

Re: POR.... Your Suggestion

Thanks Jean. You have really been helpful. I already have ressies at ASMo which I never cancelled (I couldn't resist upgrading to POR with a code). I guess I'll keep them for now and then see what happens.
Thanks again.

Re: POR.... Your Suggestion

Here's my situation. We have ressie from 12/8-12/12 at POR. We then move to AKL for two nights. Checking on setting up a new ressie, to stay the whole time at AKL and the price is out of control.

My question is...how likely is it that I'm going to have to move, since I check in the day before the resort "closes," and if I have to move, will they make me stay the 8th at POR, and then move?

Finally, if I reserved through a TA, will disney call her, or me?
Any help or guidence would be great!

Re: POR.... Your Suggestion

Bekkitz: If you are checking in before 12/9, you do not have to move. WDW will call the TA, they will not call the guest. It will do no good for you to call as the reservation is under your travel agent's control. Call your travel agent and tell her/him what you know, so they are aware of this. Unless the travel agent is a Disney specialist, they usually don't know these things.
