Which discount program for cruise??

Okay, Jean, I think I'm ready to at least look into booking a Disney Cruise. (I've always wanted to do this!) What kind of deals does AAA offer? What about DC and AP? I have those- I am trying to get an Amex card, too. What is the best way to go? Should I just come to you? I mean could you do the planning and get the best deal for me? I may even like to try the AP cruise in Jan.- if it's not too late to get on that one. It's just me and Todd (who is 10). So, I guess I'd be paying for 2 adults anyway--double occupancy. Thanks! Oh, I'd like to take a 7 day or longer cruise.

Re: Which discount program for cruise??

Michelle: American Express did have special discounting but only for 2002. I do not know what AAA is offering, but I can tell you that I have rebooked three different families on cruises because their AAA agents didn't know what they were doing and gave very poor service. These may be the exceptions, and your AAA agent may be better. Disney Club is giving 25.00-50.00 onboard credit but that is also for 2002. AP has one cruise in January with AP discount but it is for the 3 night cruise. At least at this time, your only discount would be early booking savings, so I would book it as soon as your plans are firm.

I received a fax on Friday from DCL, listing the 7 night cruise on 1/11/03 for 799.00 per person for category 11/12, so you may want to jump on that one.

Re: Which discount program for cruise??

Thank you, Jean! I'll give it some serious thought and try to get some permanent plans. What is the deposit and cancellation policy like?

Re: Which discount program for cruise??

3 and 4 night cruises are 200.00 per person deposit and 250.00 per person for the 7 night. You have to make final payment on cruise 60 days prior to cruise. If you cancel prior to that all money is refunded to you. After 60 days then there are penalties, unless you have insurance, but they would keep the insurance premium.
