Re: travel insurance I would say it all depends on the client, the type of trip and the cancel/change policy of the wholesaler. If you can cancel 5 days prior and lose none of your hard earned dollars, insurance usually in not indicated. If your doing a Panama cruise for 14 day with your 80 year old mom and 14 yr old daredevil son-I say get it. Travel insurance not only helps you get your payment back if you cancel in advance, it can also cover medical expenses or reparation expense during your trip, lost luggage, and other unforeseen circumstances. When booking for myself, I prefer third party insurance since I always book air separate from packages and I can get it covered this way. An online site where you can compare third party pricing is www.insuremytrip.com Hope that helped Nanc

Re: travel insurance Hi, Travel insurance is ALWAYS a good idea! It is inexpensive peace-of-mind. For instance, someone may get injured or sick on your trip and you may need to return home early - the insurance would cover your trip interruption costs, change fees to the airlines, etc. You should book your travel insurance through a separate travel insurance company - the rates may be a bit higher, but the coverage is almost always more comprehensive. There are several excellent companies with good reputations. Have a great day!

Re: travel insurance A good example of the above is a cruise. If you book a DCL cruise but book your air separately, Disney will only insure you for the cruise. But if you buy a third party plan, you're covered from the time you reach the airport until you get back to your home airport. If the flight is delayed, you're covered.
