| I called the Fairfield Inn and the group person wasn't in but they said to get a group rate we would have to book a minimum of 10 rooms. They had regular rates that if you booked on your own without a AAA discount or anything like that it would be 109.99 for a regular room plus tax and 129.99 plus tax for a suite. I can't call tomorrow as i work when they are open so if someone would want to call and speak to group sales we could find out what a group rate is but to be honest people may not be able to make it and sometimes the group rate is dependant on a specific # of rooms being booked. I would say we all book on our own to save on maybe having people back out or we may not have enough interest for 10 rooms min. Just my .02.

| I agree, Amy. I know we will stay there, but...flying standby means we are never guaranteed to be ANYWHERE at a specific time. Keep your fingers crossed, though. I sure hope we make it!!!

| If you can get a AAA rate, book it. The ten room group rate minimum means you'll have to have ten rooms double occupancy at a minimum to get a special rate. It would be cheaper to share 5 rooms with 4 people each anyway. And you're responsible for all ten rooms as a group with the group rate and if someone backs out, you're stuck trying to fill that room or have everyone give up their rate and start over their ressies from scratch. AAA is easier if you have it.

| Thanks everyone, I wasn't sure how the group rate worked, it was just an idea. I didn't realize it was dependent upon those factors...but now I do.

| Thanks for calling, Amy. I was going to call today to find out about the group rate info, now I won't have to. I'm probably going to book this soon and put in on my calendar. | ||||

| Okay, I took the first step and booked the King Suite for two nights. I can cancel the second night if I don't need it, but I want to make sure I have it until I book the flights. |

| I'm booked! Now, have we decided on a time yet? I'm just curious since I'll have to make a reservation for the ferry. But I know that can wait. I was just curious. | ||||

| We usually do it around lunch time but if people are flying and driving in, it might make more sense to do it slightly later - maybe around 2 or 3? What do you guys think?

| 2 or 3 might be better for me, as hopefully T-ball and softball would be over by then!

| I would do Fri/Sat. if that works out this time. Last time I ended up flying in on Sat. morning at 11 and just going right to lunch - then hanging out at the hotel Sat. night.
