I see many of us are on the CT border - some are able to go to the CT meet on 6/21 and some are not. Is anyone interested in a MA meet somewhere? What does everyone think? Let's plan a day

mmmm you must have been reading Nancy and my mind

I posted about a meet in Boston at a chocolate bar. We have been talking about doing it for weeks now and thought it would be a perfect Boston meet. We did it 5 years ago and we loved it. Matter of fact, it is when Nancy and I first met and now we are great friends

We hope all of you can join us

I know you're hoping I say Fenway Park

but I'm up for anywhere. Where is everyone in MA from - maybe we can get an idea from the locations of where the most people live. We also have some of our friends "over the boarder" that would join us

Depending on what part of MA you decide to meet in (I'm from CT) I would be interested. I'll keep a look out for any new information.

Probably the easiest place for everyone would be Worcester Area since that is the middle of the state.

Actually, I wasn't thinking that at all (except maybe to avoid a weekend in Boston when the Sox are playing at home because the city would be less crowded), but now that you mention it.....if everyone going is a Red Sox fan, maybe we should take a tour of Fenway Park and then grab lunch somewhere. (The chocolate bar sounds interesting, Janine.....is that a restaurant?) Fenway tours are $12 for adults, $10 for children ages 2-15 and children under 2 are free. Construction has to be finished by Opening Day on April 8th, so the tours will be expanded then. I do know that you never know what you are going to see on your tour as I was able to sit near a Fenway Park tour guide, Ed, at the playoff games and he talked about what he does. (He's in my 'famous' Sweet Caroline video

)He told me that he doesn't even know where he is going to be allowed to take guests on any given day and he is often able to surprise them with peeks into different areas of the park that aren't normally on the tour. When I retire I want to do what Ed does or be an usher, but I have yet to see a woman in that position at Fenway Park!

It's just a thought.....I'm up for anything as long as the dates fit!

Sturbridge is nice in the late spring and may be easy for everyone to get to (MA Pike, 84). There's an Applebee's, Uno's and Piccadilly Pub there to choose from.

Exit 9 off the MA Pike is easy. Most of the restaurants are right on RT. 20. They are easy to find and easy to get to. There is also a great Italian restaurant called Rom's on RT. 131.

Yes, Rom's is a nice idea, too - especially if we have a larger group.

Dyan, The Fenway tour idea is awesome, but aren't they only available on weekdays? if it was a weekend I could do it...
As far as Sturbridge (would be great for our CT passporters) and the Rt 9 area, both work great for me, they are only an hour away....
