If you do want a Tokyo Disney book, there is Tokyo Disney Made Easy by Kevin Yeo... you're right, great shame there's no PassPorter for Tokyo Disney though...

| So, I asked DH how long of a flight it was to Tokyo and he asked why I wanted to know! So I told him it was because I wanted to go to Disney in Tokyo. He said he has always wanted to go there, too! I was shocked. Anyway, it sounds like fun and something I will research a bit and definately keep in mind for 2013! Great idea!

| Okay . . . so I'm a little more than a little interested . . . I bought a Fodor's guide to Japan (because there's no way I'm going all the way around the world and not spending some time exploring the rest of the country.) Marriott has hotels in Tokyo, Okinawa, Nagoya, Naruto, and Sapporo--guess who gets a discount!! Guess who is happy to share!

| I asked DH and he said he wants to go to Tokyo, but when we're older and richer.

| Sign me up!! ![]() I already have the Tokyo DK Eyewitness book (which is beautiful), and as I received a Ģ25 Waterstones voucher for my birthday, will be investing in some others soon... DH has proved surprisingly receptive to the idea (I think it's the 'no tipping' thing that did it), so hopefully we will be able to keep pushing money into our ISA over the next couple of years and then combined with my 10 year savings plan paying out in 2013 should be able to do it in style and with minimal impact to the credit cards... I have to thank you Cheryl for providing me with the answers to his questions that I wouldn't have known otherwise, such as: can you get by without speaking fluent Japanese (yes), isn't it all just sushi restaurants (no) and are you sure you don't have to tip (yes I'm sure!!). The biggest surprise though was when I mentioned wanting to go to Japan in conversation with my parents and they both said it was somewhere they'd always wanted to go too. Who knew?! This was slightly soured though when I launched into gushing praise for Tokyo Disney only to be met with "why would you fly half way round the world to a place full of history and culture and then waste time at a theme park?". I think we can safely say that they Don't Understand The Whole Disney Thing. Off now to start an Excel budgeting spreadsheet...

| Oh yes - I think we all know the bit about flying half way round the world to waste time at a theme park! Fantastic news - I love the DK guides, they really have been my bibles over the years. I was going through mine yesterday, looking at what else we could do on our return trip, as I wouldn't go for any less than two weeks. It turns out Easter falls at the end of March in 2013 - Sunday 31 March I believe, so we'd definitely aim to be away for that, as that's two days holidays already. So far I've got: Tokyo Disney - five days (would allow us to see everything properly - you can do it in three or four days, but heck why not go for longer? Tokyo itself - two days Kamakura - one day Yokohama - one day Kyoto - two days (we still have some things we didn't get to see last time) Osaka - one day Kobe - one day Himeji Castle - one day (full day trip from Osaka) That's 14 days, so that's our bare minimum two week holiday - and if we can go for longer, I have my eye on other places I'd like to visit in Japan.

| We'll probably do Tokyo Disney for 4 days and the city of Tokyo for 2 days.

I love Easter - not because of the chocolate or anything, but because of those two precious days off work...I never appreciated them till I left uni and had to go into the Real World of Work, where you only get 20-something days off a year. Eight years later and I'm still in shock about that, and having to give away a load of my money to some guy called Gordon Brown every month! ![]()

| Hmmmm, 2013? My DS1 graduates HS that year. We were really hoping to go before then, but who knows? Depends how the savings and economy go, but we DID start that Japan account so if we can't make it before then, 2013 might work! Beth
