Just been nosing around Japan National Tourism Organization | - it's excellent!

They have lots of videos - even one of what to do when you arrive at the airport, how to get around on the subway etc. I like things like that - it's very reassuring to have seen it before experiencing it!

I can see me spending a lot of time trawling Youtube for people's home videos of their trips...

Oh cool!! I'll be spending some time checking that out. Another place for videos and audio is a podcast called Meandering Mouse. He's been to Tokyo several times. Here's a link: The Meandering Mouse - Disney Podcast - Unofficial

I see you've made a counter for retiring shortly after a trip to Tokyo.

See what you've started Cheryl? I chatted with Masayo briefly on FaceBook. (Do you two know each other per chance?) I told her about your TR and she asked if you had written the trip report. I told that several of us were thinking of a trip in 2013. It would be nice if she and her DH could meet up with us in the park. I'm going to send her a link to your TR - if that's ok with you.

I love Easter - not because of the chocolate or anything, but because of those two precious days off work...I never appreciated them till I left uni and had to go into the Real World of Work, where you only get 20-something days off a year. Eight years later and I'm still in shock about that, and having to give away a load of my money to some guy called Gordon Brown every month!
I hear you about those two days leave!

I'm hoping maybe we can do the geisha tour this time... there is also another tour I've found that got my interest: the Kyoto Maiko tour. OK, so it's not cheap - about Ģ67 by today's exchange rate and that's about double the price of the tour we were looking at, but it's another option. By the way, that website was invaluable to me in planning our visit last time. It's got so many hotels and tours on it, much more than you find on places like Expedia.

The other place is to go is Japan Guide - that is packed with useful info. I found that great in planning our trip and it really helped with the little details like how to get to places on public transport, things the guidebooks sometimes don't cover.

Hey... I don't know about you, but I'm really glad I started this! I'm loving the fact that we're all planning to go to Japan in four years time. I've really wanted to go back and now we have a date in mind - and friends to do it with. Life couldn't be better!

After reading your TR I am now convinced that DisneySea is possibly the coolest park in the world and I would LOVE to see it. Assuming I could get a roomie to offset the lodging cost I could prob raise the funds in time for a 2013 trip.

According to Expedia...14 hours, give or take nonstop. I actually just looked to see how much tickets are running right now, over a grand But, hopefully they would go down at some point in the next couple years, lol

Funny thing is that the a couple of weeks ago, I found flights for $640 out of KC. They're not that price right now but I'm sure they will be again.

It's going to be fun. DH annouced to me yesterday that he has his funds saved for this trip. So now, I'll just need to save for me.

No she's not on PP. She's on Tagrel and is good friends with Deb Wills, Linda, Beci, and all of that crowd. She knew who you were so I wondered if you knew each other. I'll send her a link to your TR.

I can't wait for this trip. I'll be seeing my family next weekend. I wonder what they'll say about Glenn and i planning a trip to Tokyo.

I think I know who you mean - I think she's done some reports / blogs / newsletter articles for All Ears in the past. Now you mention that, it's all falling into place... I think?

Just made my first deposit into my Tokyo savings account.

I was thinking about requesting Disney Dollars for Christmas from family for the next few years. That wouldn't work with exchange rates, dollar vs. yen, and the whole thing about Tokyo Disney not being owned by Disney. Can't use my Visa rewards either.
