Well our plans (I say 'our', I mean 'my' really as DH will either have to fall in line or stay at home..!) are pretty similar to Cheryl's really, as we'd want to give it a good two weeks, given that it takes so long to get there. I'm so pleased to hear that Virgin flights are reasonably priced at that time of year!!

I think the Tokyo-elsewhere-Disney itinerary is a great one to follow, not least because it saves the best till last... I definitely want to see Kyoto, as that's where the geisha are more accessible to tourists, and they are a big part of my reason for wanting to go The Kyo Odori is a big public dance display that they give there during the first two weeks of April every year, to coincide with the cherry blossom season...I'd give anything to see that!

Other than that I'm still reading loads of guide books and listing everything that looks interesting in my new Japan Trip Notebook. There's so much to include though, that it's possible that I may have to start a Volume 2 before too long...

Glad to hear the dates pretty much work for everyone - and I love that we're all planning dates so far ahead. It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who does that!

I'm always mentally calculating who has the next milestone birthday, how far away that is and whether or not I can tie a holiday into it somehow...

I will have had my big milestone birthday 3 months earlier but you can still celebrate it in April.

This is just about what I'm planning, but I'll probably extend it a bit one way or the other - I'll have another week's vacation by then.

Ha ha - thanks! It'll be my 33rd that June, so I could maybe call it an early "third of a century" celebration trip. Alternatively DH turns the big 5-0 the following year so it could be his last Big Holiday Before The End Of The World And My Life's Not Worth Living Any More (which is kinda how he feels about that birthday!).

That's the one that I'll be celebrating in Dec. 2012. No, we're not going to do that. We're going to
