Okay, okay ... before anybody has a cow ... no, it doesn't have to be just the girls. If the guys want to be included, great!

I've mentioned this idea to a couple of my fellow shoppers ... errrr, PassPorters ... Donna (ILuvDisney) and Shonnie (SMG) to be exact. Both thought it'd be fun to have a PP meet and "Girls' Weekend" at the Mall of America sometime. I'd be happy to help organize from this end if there's any interest out there. What do you think? What time of year? Is two days enough? LOL ... post your thoughts here, and let's see what happens.

oooh, so tempting. I think the Mall of America is only an 8 hour drive or so away....

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to go since that gol-darned money exchange thing hurts so bad (it's not the actual exchange that bugs me although 64 U.S. cents/$1 CA dollar sux, it's the fact that the bank steals about another 10 or 15 cents/dollar that it exchanges for you on cash or travellers cheques that makes it $1.50Ca for $1 U.S.)

While I'd love to do it, that would be quite a hike for me and I would not be able to justify the cost of airfare to DH!

I wish we could, but we are saving all of our pennies for WDW in January, and a 15 hour drive would definately make a dent in that!!!!!

I'd love to!! THis way DH wouldn't have to go with me! We could do a holiday shopping/Passporter meet thing possibly. I am game for anything I guess. I would have to watch my days of the week during the fall term so I don't miss too much class. I will be in the cities in Sept for the Cher concert and will be stopping at MoA then, so Sept is not a good month for me to go (or at least DH won't think so [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] ) Late Oct or early Nov? Count me in! We will be at MoA Fri. Sept. 20 anyway for several hours before we have to be in Owatonna for a family reunion Fri. night.
But even if it's a different weekend I'd like to come. We could even go to the Rainforest Cafe and pretend we were in Downtown Disney!

Ooooohhh, you guys are bad, bad, bad! Tempting me with a shopping trip to THE mall of all malls. Shame on you, don't you know I have a Disney trip to pay for?!

But seriously, I would love to attend, but the aforementioned trip to Disney makes it pretty tough to swing it. But I think it is a great idea -- and hopefully many PP will be able to shop.

I would love to take on the Mall of America only problem is it's out for this year unless I hire a new lab tech soon. I'm currently playing a waiting game..I just interviewed a good candidate but polictics are getting in the way of her being hired!! Okay, so there are a couple thumbs up. Would you be interested in a pre-Christmas Mall weekend? Or a totally different time of year? Keep in mind that (a) the weather has the potential to be rotten from November through March (especially important for those of you who would drive here), and (b) the crowds are awful from mid-November through December (we're talking Christmas-Week-at-WDW crowds [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img] ).

I told Donna earlier today -- I'm leaving the time up to you guys -- you're the ones who have to fly or drive to get here. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road for me. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Any opinions?

Looks like there are 5 who could make it -- that's great! I think Denise mentioned late October or early November; does that work for everyone who'd have to drive here? Are there specific weekends that work (or don't work) for you?
