Someplace that's easy to find, makes it easy to see each other, has a snack nearby, or affords a nice view of the parade while you wait? At MK - we don't usually split up, but we have arranged to meet the girls at the bench in front of the entrance to Big Thunder Mountain. It's out of the way - you can see the entrance to BTMRR and Splash from that spot - and they are the only things there (dead end). If you've read my trip report from Dec. 2002, you know this was not a happy story - they were stuck on Splash Mountain for an hour - didn't get out till 12:30 AM!!!!! The park closed at 12 am! If I were to choose a spot now - I would probably choose the little circle in front of the train station - that's where we like to watch Spectro. At EPCOT? We meet up in the World Showcase over by Morocco, where there are some little benches overlooking the lagoon - Tangierine Cafe for me, and near to France for Jennie's chocolate croissant! Great shopping for Sarah in the bazaar too! At AK? At AK - We've met up my the entrance to the Maharajah Jungle Trek - the only time we split there was when John & his Mom didn't want to ride Kali! DON'T split your party up at Flametree! We did this - I waited for the food with John, while I sent Amanda and the gang to sit at the tables by the water. Some food was ready, but we had to wait another 5-10 min for the ribs. John went to find them, and circled the seating area until I was done waiting - never did find them, since he didn't know where I had sent Amanda - the seating area for this restaurant is huge, and spread out! At MGM? MGM - we've met over by the stone restrooms in front of the TOT, RNRC, and entrance to Fantasmic. Again - a nice bench outside to wait at. At DTD? Downtown Disney is a cinch - the Lego playground!! After everyone explores WOD - Daddy takes Sarah there, while the girls shop till they drop! |

| Re: A little Backyard brainstorming: Inspired by whoSEZ MK - The Partners Statue. Centrally located and easy to find! Epcot - Ice Station Cool. Free Drinks! AK - Haven't done this yet but I would say the bridge that leads from the entrance to the Tree of Life MGM - Under the big hat! DTD - Outside the Lego Store - great landmarks! |

| Re: A little Backyard brainstorming: Inspired by whoSEZ Okay, I usually only travel with my daughter so we never split up. This past trip I traveled with friends staying at a different resort so meeting up was essential. Let me just say this...when traveling with Matt and Tracy, NEVER let them convince you that they are on their way. You will freeze your tushy off waiting in front of Spaceship Earth. Talk about a doozie of a wind tunnel! Also, never let them meet you at the big hat, in MGM. As a joke, they will pretend to ditch you. They will think it is hilarious, you will not be amused! Seriously, though, they are both really good meeting places because they have all amenities within reach, and the one who is waiting has a good view all around so as not to miss anybody. I have never had to meet anybody else in any other parks, so I am of no help there. |
