Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? Great Ray! I know that there is a lady named Linda who lives up towards Cumming who is interested as well. I'm hoping a few more GA people will see this and join in. I'll get back to you! Stephanie

Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? Hi kids! I just spotted the post on the other thread. I'm in Macon (as in, "God-forsaken"), and I'm game for a meet. I always like an excuse to go to Atlanta. Going to Dekalb Farmers Market (love it!) tomorrow in fact, to stock up on wine and other goodies too exotic for Macon (did I mention, "God-forsaken"?). I'm a teacher, which means my weekends are often taken up with grading papers and writing lesson plans, but if you give me a couple weeks notice, I can plan ahead. I think it's a great idea!

Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? I grew up in Macon! What school do you teach at? I went to Stratford from kindergarten to 12th grade! My parents and brother still live there, but I can't imagine living there again myself. I do enjoy going back to visit, though!I will definately email you - I'm just hoping more people will want to get together! Stephanie

Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? I'm in. We need to figure out a good place to meet. How 'bout the Varsity? It's down town and central. Plenty of places to sit. Course I'd rather meet at Summit's Wayside Tavern in Snellville. Great choice of beer and good food. Ya'll suggest somewhere.

Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? I'm in TN near Knoxville, so Atlanta would only be about 4 hours from here. Date/time/place? How about near the Perimiter Mall? Somewhere close to a Marta stop would be nice.

Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? Ok, it looks like we have some interest, so how do we want to proceed? Should we start with a month and poll what weekends are good for people and what restaurant we want to meet at? I started this and don't really know where to go from here! ![]() Stephanie

Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? Stephanie, Might we expand this to include some AL and other folks as well? Elaine (Bert & Sully) has family in Atlanta and lives near the FL panhandle and I'm only a little over 3 hours west. I know there are other Passporters in B'ham too. I'd love to meet more of the folks I've been talking to for so long.

Re: Atlanta area meet anyone? Why don't we just make this a Dixie Passporter Meeting. Atlanta is sort of centrally located. Now as to getting this thing started, let's all remember that Football is starting and as we all know in the South, Football games trump all else. So I suggest a Sunday afternoon. Someone else suggested trying to find something in the Perimeter Mall area and that maybe a good idea as well. It's sort of at the top of I-285 and most folks know about it. So what do we do to get this thing on the road?
