Our Journey Through Cub Scouts (The Year of the Wolf).
This blog is my little place to describe the ups and downs of our experiences in Cub Scouts. Since Joshua's in the second grade, that makes him a Wolf Cub! Read along and please feel free to share your experiences as well.
While reading, you may encounter these names and/or their abbreviations:
Tim - CM - our Cubmaster, the person who oversees the entire pack
Jay - ACM - our Assistant Cubmaster, who is also my husband
Christie - DL - our Den Leader, the person who is in charge of our Wolf den (Yes, that would be me.

<------- Over there in the sidebar are some abbreviated versions of my end-of-the-year posts from our year in Tiger Cubs. I will keep the Suggestions post updated to let you know if any of them are adopted.

I was going to help Jay with his missions class at church tonight, because the regular teacher wasn't going to be there. While we were waiting for the boys to arrive, one of the older classes' teachers walked by. He is going to be Webelos I dl this year, and his son is the only other church member who is part of our Pack. He told us that our Education Minister is going to set up a scout committee in the church and wants us to be part of it.
I guess this came about because I was asking our children's minister for help in passing out some brochures to the boys, remember? And apparently ever since I asked about that he has continued to think about scouts. Which is definitely a good thing. I told him that me and Jay would be glad to meet with him sometime if he wanted to discuss scouting.
Now if any of you are Baptists, or are familiar with Baptists, you will know that we have about a zillion committees within the church. So this process is going to take a while to get things moving, but I'm excited about it. It appears that the staff has finally realized that they are responsible for the scout group that they sponsor, and perhaps they need to start looking at it a little closer.
It will be a while until the committee has its first meeting, so I don't know exactly what the church is looking for. Like what they see our purpose as being. Jay and I were trying to come up with other church members who are interested in scouting who might be willing to serve on a committee. We'll see how it goes!
