Beer of the Day - 11/18

Posted 11-18-2008 at 03:52 PM by RobDVC

Today’s beer comes to us from Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis, Missouri.

Michelob Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale

Ingredients/Brewing:
Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale is brewed with dark-roasted carapils, caramel and two-row barley malts and imported Hallertau and Alsace hops. It is then aged on bourbon oak cask staves and whole Madagascar vanilla beans.

Taste:
Smooth, robust taste, full of rich aromas, hints of vanilla and flavorful hops. You can smell the vanilla while drinking and there is a lingering vanilla aftertaste.
Pairs well with soft cheeses, pork roast, toffee pudding and clam or corn chowders.

This is a nice after-dinner beer, tasty cold or at room temperature and just a tad bit stronger than a typical beer with a 6% ABV.
