Tantalizing Treats on Trips

Every trip I take, it seems, there is some special food that I love to have. Down the shore I usually make sure I have a slice of pizza and a soft ice cream cone or a piece of coconut-chocolate from this one special candy store. When I was in Key Largo I HAD to sample the Key Lime pie and I brought home some Key Lime coconut treats.
There is something about special foods that add to a trip, especially if it is a place that I go to often. I imagine there is no vacation spot that I've visited more in my lifetime than Disney World.
It seems like Disney World also has the most MUST HAVE treats. There are restaurants that I feel I have to fit into the schedule. There are carts with novelties that I MUST visit.
What are your Disney must-have treats? How about your must-have treats from other places?

*Dole Whip
*Coconut Haystack
*Morocco counter service
*Mexico table service
*Frontierland burger
*Chicken fingers
*coffee, coffee and coffee on various benches while watching the sites and people
*a frozen strawberry marguerita-I used to DREAM of them before I was legal
*a pina colada

At WDW I like either a Dole Whip or a fruit-flavored slushie drink at the Magic Kingdom - last time it was raspberry lemonade in Fantasyland. Also Columbia Harbour House and Hollywood & Vine. Still on my wish list is a cream cheese pretzel, hope to get one in December!
For other places ... we have a favorite trail mix that Wal-Mart sells (the variety they call Indulgent) that we have to restrict ourselves to our vacations or else we would gain way too much weight! So I guess that can be considered a vacation food?
When we go to Branson we always go to the Mountain Man store and get a couple of bags of their bridge mix, or either the triple chocolate mix. Looking foward to that in November! And at Silver Dollar City I like to get one of their skillet meals.
Jay works at Nissan and every fall they have a Family Day where they bring in a small carnival with rides, games, etc. I don't ride anything anymore, I just enjoy strolling around and eating the popcorn while Joshua and Jay do the rides.Posted 07-29-2009 at 06:25 PM by christiejay

Ohhhhhhhhhh, I want to hear more about those skillet meals! YUM!Posted 07-30-2009 at 09:57 AM by Sandra Bostwick - They cook in a cast-iron skillet that has to be about 4 feet in diameter! And of course they are doing the cooking right by the main walkways, so it is so tempting and you can smell it a long way off! They do 2 or 3 different versions of them, but they all include some type of meat and veggies, usually green and red peppers and onions also, and potatoes. Now I'm hungry!
