(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)

This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.

I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.

I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going!

Blank Space

Posted 01-27-2010 at 08:01 PM by Sandra Bostwick (Walt's Wave)
I did this exercise where I managed to just clear my mind. Not think of anything. Just be Blank.

It felt like a little Zen vacation. When I was done, it seemed like I was MORE focused and MORE clear than after all the thinking and mental manipulation.

Here try it!

DISASTER!!!!!!!!!!

Posted 01-26-2010 at 02:36 PM by Sandra Bostwick (Walt's Wave)
I went to pick up the next 100 copies of my new book. I was sitting in the parking lot and I believed I had my car in park when SUDDENLY the car started rolling at what appeared to be CRASH speed.

My heart skipped a beat, then pounded a few extra beats! My foot slammed on the brakes as I looked at the car parked just a few feet in front of mine. I instinctively reached for the stick to get the car back into park.

All of this happened in a split second.

My Disney Trivia Chat Goal

Posted 01-25-2010 at 07:37 PM by Sandra Bostwick (Walt's Wave)
I decided to set a goal to run the Trivia Chat on Sunday Nights here at PassPorter.

Let me tell you, that is not an easy thing to do, but the people are so interesting that it is totally worth it.

There seems to be a half-dozen conversations going on while I am trying to keep track of answers AND do the math to keep score.

To me, that is major multi-tasking! Leading a chat with six to ten people at once is not easy, but it really is fun.

The...

Seasons in the Blog Box.

Posted 01-24-2010 at 12:50 PM by Sandra Bostwick (Walt's Wave)
I want to revisit an earlier topic

Blank sheet of paper.

One of my favorite books ends with what first appears to be a blank page. There is a shadowy image of Mickey Mouse with his wizard hat and wand. The top of the page bears the following text:

"There are two ways to look at this blank sheet of paper. You can look at it as the last page of a book, or as the greatest opportunity in the world because nobody's put anything on it....

Accountability Buddies

Posted 01-23-2010 at 05:06 PM by Sandra Bostwick (Walt's Wave)
My friend and I are working on a weekly goal follow-up project. We set our goals in writing and have a Friday check-in call to see how things are going.

We both agree that this is very helpful, BUT it is a bit of pressure. I can see why people are hesitant to actually set a goal and then, even more hesitant to tell someone else.

I think, though, there is as much to be learned from discussing the goals that have fallen short as there is from forcing yourself to move forward....
