(This is Main Street by Angie, who is working on art goals here on the blog!)
This has been a personal project to blog every day for a school year on goals and dreams. My hope was that I could find a group of people to work with me.
I was lucky enough to find a small, but sincere group of inspirational people to keep me company. We've been using Walt Disney's philosophies or creations as inspiration.
I am no longer blogging daily, but I am notified if comments are posted, and I'll be happy to keep the discussion going! "I've got a lot of ideas. I haven't worked them out and I haven't proved them out. I carry ideas around in my head for a long time."
Walt Disney
Do ideas go stale? If you have a great project in mind, are there limits to how long it should take to complete it?

I saw A Christmas Carol on Saturday night.
At the beginning, when I saw the castle that tells you Walt was somehow involved in the production, I felt just a little bit proud for him. For some reason, I also felt just a little proud for myself, which is kind-of silly.
It isn't as if I could stand up and say "I KNOW HIM!" I never even met the man!
I've never worked for Disney, I have no real connection to Disney at all.
Well, except...

| | "There might be a big angle on television." Interoffice memo from Walt Disney to Roy Disney and Gunther Lessing dated October 21, 1939
One Walt's gifts was his ability to think ahead and make predictions based on trends and developing technologies. He was able to anticipate where the tide was going and use that to create opportunity.
He was probably less successful with the business end of this early on, if you consider the Oswald situation,...

Today I finished my first - Ecotour trip report JUST ENOUGH that I felt I could move it to the finished list.
WOW! It was an amazing feeling!
I also did something that took alot of courage. I put "finish editing the POW" book down on my goals list. We have some orders from people who want to use it for a Christmas gift, so it is time to get moving.
This is a goal that has been literally years in the making, for one reason or another.

A certain Passporter helped me remember that you just can't let obstacles stand in the way of the things you want to do or need to do.
Some obstacles, though, are hard to manage. Limitations of one sort or another or maybe too much of something that makes your progress more difficult.
Barriers are the obstacles that cause you to take those extra steps around or over.
Detours make you take a different, less direct route.
And a bridge out can...
