Atlantis Ride at SeaWorld?

Is the ride just like a log flume, only one big drop? From the description on the webiste it sounded like it might be more than that. Has anyone ridden it? I think my 7 yo son would love the themeing, but he is not into roller coasters. Thanks for the info!

It has another drop in it. Sorry it has been over a year so i am trying to remember more details. I know it was my son's favorite ride in the park and he LOVES coasters.

If I remember correctly, the ride has a short interior drop and then the big outdoor drop. There are hot flames in part of it. The ride itself is fairly short and not themed as well I we had hoped. If he does Splash Mountain, the drop is similar (may be a bit bigger).

We enjoyed the "museum" after the rider just as much. Look in the pool in the floor and the niches in the walls.

There is a drop that you can see from International Drive that is a smaller drop, but surprising because you can't see it from inside the park. I love this ride, however, it is a lot darker than Splash Mountain so some little ones may not like it. I know my niece hated it when she went on it at the age of 10 because it is darker.

While I've never Splash Mtn., I have done this one and was told that the drop is bigger than Splash Mtn. As I recall we went up and up then outside and I thought well, this won't be so bad but then we went inside again, up some more and then the big drop which as I recall I was looking straight down. After the drop, you round a bend, go back inside and it is dark, do some roller coaster type tilts, hit one more smaller drop and that's it. It's billed as a high speed water ride/roller coaster.

I don't recall any hot flames in Journey to Atlantis.

Thanks for the info, I think we'll skip this one. Don't want to freak out DS. And getting really wet in Feburary does not sound like fun.

There are 2 drops, 1 interior and the biggie at the end. The exterior one is bigger than Splash Mountain. the best flume ride in Orlando is Jurrasic parj River Adventure at IOA imho. That's a very, very cool drop
