Just came back from Aquatica

And it was great. I have been to bigger parks, there certinly are pleanty of bigger ones out there, but it was nice. The Banana Beach Buffet or whatever is a great all you can eat deal. We only did the one time one and got a ton and went back for more. The food is better than normal park food too. Try the corn. Get in line for the dolphin slide first though or you will be in line for two hours and I'm not joking. Going 2 people at a time, it goes very S L O W. All in all, it was great. If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Question

Hey.............glad you had a good time
How wet do you get on the dolphin slide? I will need to keep my glasses on, or I won't be able to see them! I hope they will keep on my face

To be brutally honest, unless you spread out all four limbs to slow down just at the right moment, you won't have more than a milli-second to see them anyway. It goes that quickly. There were 4 of them in the tank and they swam 2x2. You might see them but I think more don't than do. Just try to slow down. Otherwise, it is a regular slide and you will get just as wet. I suggest something like a sunglasses strap to hold them in place on your face that goes around the back of your head. I've seen them around.

Thanks for the tip on the dolphin slide! We're planning on going to Aquatica in August, and we're wondering how crowded the park has been.
Was the rest of the park busy, or was the dolphin slide the only attraction with hour-long waits?

I'm going in Aug too!! How does it compare to the WDW water parks, Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon? The Dolphin slide looks very cool.

The pictures posted earlier pretty much covers it. I believe Disney's water parks are larger. This really isn't a big park. Well, not compared to some I've seen anyway. The lines arn't all really long, just a few. The two Rafty rides, (one is enclosed, one goes straight down) were long too, because its not like other parks that 6 people can get in. The max is like 3 so it takes longer. One wave pool didn't open til HOURS later, lifeguards made sure no one got in. I am told that like Discover Cove, they only let a certain number in and then close the park so if you don't get there early you might be waiting a while. Again, take advantage of the buffet offered. Its one of the highlights.

I had seen theres a shuttle that runs from seaworld to aquatica. Is this right as we're going to SS in June and may just try out the Orlando bus system to Sea World/Aquatica instead of renting a car for 8 hours.

Oh yes, in fact we left our DS at Aquatica and went to Seaworld. The shuttle is only 5 mins. Its literally across the street. He's only 14. He knew where the shuttle picks up and we told him the times. At the appropriate time he was at Seaworld right where he was supposed to be.

I have to add here though, even though we did both parks in a day, its really difficult. You literally HAVE to do Aquatica first as they only let in a certain number before they close. Also, by the time you do everything there, and get to Seaworld, you will NOT be able to see & do everything there. If you have 2 days, you are fine. Just do a day at each. We REALLY wanted to ride the dolphin slide. The line was enormous. Like over an hour. We opted to go over to Seaworld at 1. We wanted to Feed the dolphins, but its an extra 6.00 and the line is very long. You'll miss good shows if you do. We rode Krakken but didn't even get to Journey to Atlantis. Its just not possible to do both of these parks in a day and see & do everything.
