Where to stay...going to Busch Gardens

We're thinking of staying at the Hilton Clearwater hotel...we thought it would be cool to be right on the beach and allow the kids to swim in the ocean...although I don't know how warm the water will be at the beginning of Oct.

How far is the hotel from Busch Gardens?

Do you have any other hotel recommendations or is this a decent choice?

Thanks!

Clearwater would be good. We stayed in St. Pete Beach last Aug, before we went to Universal. Loved the beaches! I would think the water in Oct. would still be good.
We didn't go to Busch Gardens last year but I would think it's about a 30 min drive. You can mapquest it from the Hilton and it will give you drive time. Have fun, I love the Gulf Coast.

We stayed in Orlando on Easter week and did US, IOA, SW, and Aquatica. We just took a day trip to Busch Gardens. It worked out very well.
