Busch Gardens, Tampa

Is there a message board like Passporter for Busch Gardens, Tampa?? I am looking for any tips on making our park experience better. We will probably only visit one day, so I want to see as much as possible.

Re: Busch Gardens, Tampa

I don't know if there is a message board for it. We went last October and had no problem seeing everything in one day. We were kind of dissappointed with it after just having been at Disney. I don't know what we were expecting but there were a few things not open b/c of constuction. There was a huge area in the middle of the park boarded up. Hopefully they are done with that by now. Of course, it was just after all the hurricanes too.
I had bought a book called "The Unofficial Guide to Florida with Kids" to prepare for the trip. I think alot of the info in it you can read online thru frommers.com. I am pretty sure they had a plan in there to see it all in 1 day.

I have not been to Busch Gardens since 2002 and it was pretty crowded the day we went. BG doesn't have a FP type system (well they do but you have to pay $75 extra for it!) so the lines are VERY long. It is not rear to wait 60 minutes for a coaster even during a "slow" time.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE BG (coasters and animals are my thing) but it is so hard to go there after going to Disney. FP is a gift from God! *LOL*

Re: Busch Gardens, Tampa

Thanks for the info so far. We are visiting my inlaws who live in Tampa/St. Pete this summer. I am always bored there (basically I sit around while DH fixes their office computers, etc.) So DH told me to find a couple day trips to go on while we are down there. So, I know it won't be Disney, but better than sittiing around.

We stayed in St Pete when we went over to Busch Gardens. We found this great steakhouse up the road in Maidera Beach called Leatherbacks. It was a really nice meal. Its right on the main road that runs along the gulf.

I've seen some advertising for Busch Gardens, and I think they have several new attractions. I bet you'll have fun Maggie! Be sure to come back and tell us all about it!

Around May 2005, Busch Gardens Tampa will open SheiKra, a coaster with two 90 degree drops! It sounds like fun. You can see a computer video of it on www.buschgardens.com
