Adventurers: Tracy (44) and Jack (58)
Where: WDW
Resort: Port Orleans French Quarter
Celebration: Becoming Empty Nesters. In a span of less than 10 months, all three of our sons will be leaving home. Last December my oldest DS (21) joined the Air Force and is proudly serving his country, currently in Biloxi MS in tech school, will be stationed at Scott AFB in August. My middle DS (20) did two years at a community college with plans of transferring to his dream college, The Ohio State University. This all worked out and he will leave in September. My youngest DS (18) graduated from high school in June with a plan not to do community college and going straight to his dream college, Capital Univeristy in Columbus, OH. He worked very hard to accomplish this and will be leaving in August. While we are extremely proud of all three of them and so happy that they are on their way to living out their dreams, we are also a little sad. Jack and I decided we needed to go somewhere once they were all out of the house to cheer ourselves up a bit. Where is the best place to go to cheer up a couple of empty nesters? WDW of course.
Meetings: Hopefully a PP meet at MNSSHP on October 21, 2008.

Disneyland in October

Destination: Disneyland in CA

Date: October 20-22/2008

Adventurers: Mother, Stepfather and me.

Resort/Hotel: Holiday Inn on Walnut Dr.

Celebration: Partly for my mother retirement thing, and a first official train trip to Disneyland from San Diego. We always used to go by car or van almost every other year or so. We did a test run in May to Downtown Disney the only problem we had were the Anaheim buses they don't have the Disability stuff completely right yet so we are taking a disable taxi this time. For those who are going around this time let me know we could meet up.

Meetings: No meeting as yet but we will be there for the Halloween stuff.

P.S.: The person that going to the Shades of Green, if you haven't been before you going to love it , you can just walk over to the Polynesian Hotel to catch the monorail to the MK.

Resort/Hotel: Wilderness Lodge
Celebration: going because we NEED to go! Mommom's first WDW trip!
Our Plans:
These are the things we have planned so far for our October Grand Gathering. WHat do you think? This is just copied & pasted off an email I sent to others in our gathering. Thats the reason for my explanations/comments after some of the things.

" I can still remember the MAGIC of our first visit to Walt Disney World. When we got there, we rode a real monorail to the Magic Kingdom, where we first met MICKEY and the gang. I can still recall the smells of popcorn and cotton candy as we walked down Main Street USA. And there it was at the end of the street---Cinderella Castle."

15th~ arrive, check in & lunch either counter service or Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge, depending on what we decide when we get there.
Head to Magic Kingdom, get your first (emotional ) glance at Disney World, the Castle, and Main Street USA ( I have butterflies just thinking about it)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Dinner that night at 7:15 at Chef Mickey's ~~~those same butterflies again, lol I love it there! Nothing starts a Disney vacation like a big dose of MICKEY! With any luck, the B!+@h will be sick!

16th~ Heading to Epcot
Breakfast is open to whatever each person wants
Lunch is 12 at the Coral Reef (gigantic aquarium where people dive & you can watch while you eat)

we are taking the boat later that night to the Swan for dinner at 6 at Il Mulino (Italian) our first time eating there.

17th~we have breakfast scheduled at 845 at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge (this may be changed cause we had to schedule other meals).
Heading out to Hollywood Studios (MGM)
Lunch is at 1105 at 50's Prime Time Cafe (remember to wash your hands, elbows off the table & eat your veggies or NO DESSERT)!
We will take the monorail to the Polynesian for dinner that night at 630 at O'hana (that means Family in Hawaiian) 3 foot skewers & that dessert ALOHA!

18th~ we are going to the Animal Kingdom, the meals are pretty much left open right now, there are plenty of counter service restaurants there. I believe we planned room service because we are planning to go to Spectromagic at Magic Kingdom at 8 which means we need to be there early so we can have a good seat. We know that Wilderness Lodge has EXCELLENT room service!

19th~ We are going back to Magic Kingdom for breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh & friends at 910. Lunch is open and then we will take the monorail to the Polynesian for dinner at 5 at the Kona Cafe again, excellent food. YUMMO!
***After dinner we will be going back to Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party from 7-midnight.*** What are you dressing up as?

20th~ We have breakfast at Chef Mickey's at 10. We will probably head back on the monorail and over to Epcot again (although that is open right now) Maybe we can also get back to Animal Kingdom. We have Hoop-De-Doo Revue at 715 that night ( I crack myself up)!

21st~ Breakfast is open. We are back off to Hollywood Studios again. We have lunch at 1205 at Hollywood & Vine with Jojo & Golith then dinner at 550 at Mama Melrose

22nd~ we are going to that OTHER PARK that isn't Disney that has other movies and little "SPONGES in SQUAREPANTS" running around ***Please Note: this is against MY better judgement!

23rd~We are out & about to Downtown Disney for shopping, fun & eating! We have lunch at Rainforest Cafe at 1130 and dinner that night at Fultons at 7.

24th~ we are going to Magic Kingdom to sadly say goodbye till next time...check out & meet Disney's Magical Express to return to the airport.
