Destination: WDW for my big birthday bash!

Date: October 24–31, 2004

Adventurers: JamesD & LindaD (40-somethings), daughter Alicia & son-in-law, Ken (20-somethings), son Bryan (21), Linda's parents and aunt & James' mother (WDW rookies).

Resort/Hotel: Old Key West (2-bedroom & studio), J&L moving to Beach Club Villa's studio and A&K moving to CBR on 10/29.

Celebration: The main reason is to celebrate my BIG birthday on Oct. 28th. We love going to WDW during Halloween week to take advantage of MNSSHP and Food & Wine Festival. The four of us are going to MNSSHP on Friday, Oct. 29!

Meetings: You'll be sure to find us at WWTBAM and any pin meets we can find! We're all going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue on Sunday night, and I reserved a Grand Gathering dinner at the AK for Thursday night! We have reserved some of the F&W special events on the weekend after the family leaves.

Can't wait for this surprise trip for my mom! She hasn't been since she planned a vacation for us 10 years ago when I was in middle school!

Date: Sept. 28 - Oct. 4
Adventurers: DM--44 (hasn't been back since 1992), DStepfather--45 (hasn't been back since the 70's when he was an exchange student--he's from Sweden), DB--20 (went with me in Dec. 2003, now officially addicted to WDW), and Me--24 (trip planner extraordinaire!)
Resort/Hotel: AKL First timers!
Celebration: R & R, big surprise for my mom who desperately needs a vacation! She hasn't been on one since 2000. Also looking forward to getting a taste of the Food & Wine Festival and hitting first night of MNSSHP

Re: Adventuring in 10/2004 (October 2004)

could anyone tell me what it's like in the World during October? Just changed my June dates to 10/8-10/17. I've been in the Spring, Christmas and June but never in the fall. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Adventuring in 10/2004 (October 2004)

We went in October our first time on our Honeymoon and decided from then on that all of our trips would be then. The weather is beautful and the crowds aren't too bad. Most of the hotels were booked to capacity when we went b/c of the PGA tourney, but we never had a problem in any of the parks. I think our longest wait was 30 minutes for the Safari ride, most everything else we walked on, including everything in fantasy land! IMO it's the best time of year to go and if you can make it to MNSSHP do it!

Re: Adventuring in 10/2004 (October 2004)

thanks kiarasmom.....sounds like we'll love it. The only downer is that our countdown went from double digit days to 8 months :-( Oh well, at least we have time to plan.
