I can't wait until it is cruise time! There are 5 of going- DH, DS9, DS4, myself and my mom! Some of us were on the Western route in 2003, for the rest this is their first time sailing with Disney. I can't wait to see who else will be on the ship!

We'll be on this cruise as well. My husband, two daughters (ages 12 and 10), and son (7) will be on Deck 6. I've been communicating with other cruisers on this sailing on the DisBoards. I just added our family to the Fish Extenders exchange group! (Fish Extenders are basically mail organizers of various shapes/sizes/designs that you attach to the fish outside your stateroom door.) It's like a Secret Santa idea... you leave things for other people and they leave things for you. Some cruises have a LOT of people participating, which makes for really fun cruising! You come back to your room at night, and there's all sorts of homemade/premade items inside.

I have never heard of Fish Extenders, I will have to check it out. Is this your first Disney cruise?

This will be our third cruise. We went two years in a row, then took last year off. We lived in Central Florida for 6 years and had annual passes to the parks the whole time. We stayed on property quite a bit, particularly after 9/11 when Disney was really hurting for guests. I'd estimate we have spent about a year staying at various WDW resorts, and have stayed at least three nights in each one except Ft. Wilderness.

When we moved to Minnesota in 2003, my husband was FINISHED with Disney, although I was still happy to visit. Once our youngest was old enough for the traditional kid programming, we decided to give the Disney Cruise a try. The ships were not over-the-top themed, and my kids practically moved into the Lab! We didn't hesitate to rebook onboard.

Here's a link to some photos and information on Fish Extenders. I'll admit that I've never heard of them before next week, but my kids and I are excited about them! Very few people have trouble with their FEs getting stolen or vandalized, but if you decide to participate, pay attention to the strategies used to keep them safe. Note also that the fancy ones shown at this link are not the only way to go. You can just cable-tie a tote bag to the fish and be done with it!

Here's a link to another site where people are meeting regarding the 3/28/09 St. Croix cruise. There are at least 6 families signed up to trade FEs on our cruise, which is a great start! There are four pages of discussions, and currently my post (#50) is last.
