Smile New Year's Eve on the Wonder & Teen Club Question

Hi All,
We are second-time cruisers; last Disney Cruise was August 2007 on the Wonder. The first time around we were so busy before the trip, that we didn't have a chance to do any research on this website. We just took our books from AAA and had the greatest time.

Now we are going back and will board the boat on New Year's Eve! We will also be onboard for my daughter's 13th birthday! We can hardly wait! Has anyone done the New Year's Cruise? I'd love to hear about your experience.

My second question is about the teen club on board...what's it like? I've read the Disney Cruise booklet but I'm curious on the feedback you may have gotten from your own children who may have used the club. I know adults are not allowed and I wondered how it is supervised and what kinds of things the kids get to do.

Thanks

I am afraid I don't know any answers for you- but wanted to share that we will also be onboard for the New Year's Eve sailing of the Wonder- our very first cruise!

I have heard very limited information from previous New Year's passengers. And in all my online travels, have yet to see a trip report from anyone on the Wonder for New Year's.
I am especially interested in whether people dress more formally on NYE than on a normal Wonder cruise...??

We will be a party of 4 adults celebrating 2008 milestones. DH & I are celebrating our 25th anniversary. And in the connecting cabin are our 2 sons. Our oldest is celebrating his 21st birthday and our youngest is celebrating his 18th birthday. Both are in college now, but they chose a Disney Cruise over a chance to go to Hawaii!!

Hope to meet you and others on board.

Hi Linda!
Wow! Hawaii sounds good too! I hope you and your family enjoy yourselves and all your celebrations on the cruise. It is a great ship, very clean and the service is Disney at it's best!
We have decided we would dress for New Years Eve. No Tuxedo, but festive attire. My 3 girls (13, 10 and 7) want to dress up and I feel like we should sparkle!
Along w/ my daughter turning 13 on the 3rd....we will celebrate my brother-in-laws bday on the 2nd and my nieces bday on the 4th - our last day. What a party ship this will be! We have our room numbers. There will be 18 of us altogether!

Let me know if you hear anything and I too will keep you posted! Thanks for writing! Maybe I'll see you on board!

My family will also be on the Wonder NYE cruise! We are a family of 4~DH, myself, DD 14 yrs. and DD 11 yrs. The girls know about our land portion of the vacation, but we are keeping the cruise a secret until Christmas Day! So far, they have no idea! It should be a great surprise!
I was also wondering how dressy NYE will be...anyone have any thoughts???

Hi we are also on this cruise.
We did the NY eve the past 2 years-once on the Magic and last year on the Wonder. They had the dropping of the ball on the jumbotron and confetti and ballons, noie makers and hats and champagne,

When my older son was in the teen club he loved it when he was older, but for the younger ones it might be intimidating-or too much freedom. They do have 2 age groups now, so the 13s are not with the 17s as much.

I can't believe it's almost here. I'm praying for good weather.
