My husband and I are booked in a Cat. T for this. This will be my 17th DCL cruise, but his very first. His only other cruise was on the QE 2 long ago. Because it has taken me this long to convince him to sail on Disney with me, I refer to this as our "When Pigs Fly" cruise - LOL - since I thought it would never happen. It is my gift to us for our 23rd anniversary.
Is anyone else here with us?

Hi! My daughter and I are booked for this cruise. We are big WDW fans, but this will be our first cruise (on any line). We'll be celebrating her 20th birthday. Alas, my hubby is still in the "when pigs fly" category. (I laughed when I read that!) No matter, we are looking forward to a nice mother-daughter trip. Congratulations on your anniversary and your victory in convincing him to do the cruise.
Welcome, Asuka! I have gone solo on about half of my cruises so far (You'll love it!), but my hubby will be with me this time.
I read your WDW TR and saw that you have a Duffy. Will you be bringing him on the cruise? There are lots of great photo ops around the ship for him if you are into doing that. Mine has been on each Disney ship and it was great fun shooting pics of him everywhere. (I'm still a kid at heart!)

Duffy will indeed be coming with me and I wanna take lots of pictures with him. I too am a kid at heart. I told my parents about my cruise and they don't want me going alone. So I have to hunt for someone to tag along with me.
Glad to hear that, Asuka! Maybe my hubby will "let me" bring mine. I just didn't want to embarrass him because he doesn't exactly understand "people like us" - LOL. It was SO much easier when traveling solo!

Asuka - I overlooked the part about your parents not wanting you to go alone. Sorry. You WOULD be fine alone on a Disney cruise, I am sure. On the islands or excursions, I don't know. But you and Duffy would be fine on the ship and on Castaway Cay, that's for sure.

My husband plans to do some snorkeling and diving excursions, which I will not be participating in, so I will likely be alone much of the time on the islands as well.

I asked a friend of mine if she could come. Paying the difference between the cost of a solo trip and taking her. Only $288 o.o; I have a feeling she'll back out anyway so I want to line up a backup.
I really hope I can go. I've always wanted to visit Mexico. Especially since my Dad studied anthropology there at the ruins in Cozumel (before they became tourist spots).

I hope you (and Duffy) will be able to go. I just looked at 11C prices and it looks like a difference of only $218.02 between one and two, but maybe you are figuring in the automatic gratuities. For a 7-night sailing that's practically nothing in difference.
BTW - The one downside about sailing with a friend is that one person has to sleep on the convertible sofa unless you are willing to sleep together. Unlike the Magic and Wonder, the beds on the Dream and the Fantasy do NOT separate into twins. But for a couple hundred dollars, it ought to be worth it to a friend to be able to sail!

I actually upgraded to an 8C room. Hence the increase in price. I think it's a very small fraction to have to pay but she is still in school. I remember what it was like to have almost no money because I was too busy in school to work any decent amount of hours. That and she'd have to get her plane ticket and all.
And I just found out that my friend's exams are later than I thought. So I had to move the cruise to May 25th. Ugh, I just can't win. XD
I was really looking forward to meeting you and your Duffy. Maybe some day we'll be on the same cruise. I'm getting a Shellie May so she and Duffy will both want to come along.
