Digital camera with extra card and laptop (like Simbarel) to download all the pics to each night and clear out the cards. You can have the photo shops in WDW do this for you and put your pix on CD but it costs (not sure how much). Do not forget your charger as my DH did our first trip.
We take disposables for the girls to carry in their fanny packs and take as many pictures as they want to of whatever they want to. It is a cool way to see WDW through their eyes after we have gotten home. I start buying and hoarding these months in advance.
Digital with a 2gb card, 20 sets of batteries, and an extra 2gb card. All in a Mickey camera bag. Tripod optional.

Most memory cards tell you on the package how many photos you can store based on the selected resolution.
Those numbers are misleading - because a 6mp JPG image from one camera is not always the same size as a 6mp image from another camera.
The only way to really determine how many pics a memory card will hold is to look up the average file size of the pics that your particular make and model of camera creates. And I say "average", because JPG images of the same resolution, made by the same camera, will have different file sizes depending on the content of the pic.
the only disposable cameras we got were a few for my brother and they are water proof so he can take pictures at the water parks and on the water rides...
I'm going to rig up a waterproof system for my camera with a few ziplock baggies lol
I would take your digital camera. We took a disposable camera last year, to give to other guests so they wouldn't be intimidated by our larger digital camera ... and the pictures came out just terrible. TERRIBLE. Not even worth getting developed. Even if the shots are not-so-good with digital, there are ways to save them ... but not so with the disposable cameras!

My first trip to Magic Kingdom:
My next trip to WDW: October 2011!
I brought my digital SONY CyberShot and a device called a Wolverine which is a digital data storage device that is about the same size as my camera. I plugged them in at night to charge. The Wolverine cleared my memory sticks each night. When I got home I had over 800 shots of my sons' 1st Disney Vacation.
Might I also recommend winkflash.com for photo books. I had an online coupon which are offered on their site periodically for various products. I uploaded my Disney pictures and created a Photo Album of our trip. It was BEAUTIFUL, and cost me less than $25 with the coupon for over 200 pictures in the bound book. I also gave one as a gift to my parents who made the trip with us. My kids sit and look through it ALL THE TIME and relive the memories.
Last time we went, I took my good old canon 35mm for the safari and other animal shots, and I also took disposables, which took some really good pics, however this time I will be taking my digital. I like all the neat things it can do, including the movie feature, and I have two 1GB cards, so I will have over 900 pics available to take. I will also bring my 35mm again, just because I love that camera.
Just make sure you have something to carry your digital in, and you will be fine. oh yeah, and don't forget your charger. I am bringing a quick charger, which takes about half the time of my regular charger.

It is, in fact, a good idea to have a spare battery (or set of batteries) for your digital camera, and to carry it with you (fully charged, of course) in the parks along with your spare memory card.
There is nothing mroe frustrating than running out of juice or memory in the middle of your Disney day.
anyone know where I can go online to get them for a great price (I'm in AK, so I'm thinking shipping wise [you stateside people LOVE to stick it to the 49th state in shipping costs! ] as well as price of the product)
I always take my digital camera with me on every vacation and I've never had any problems with it. I love the fact that I can preview our pics on the small screen of the camera. With the disposable you never know what you get until it's too late to do a second shot. Also, on the digital camera, we take a LOT more pictures because we know we can easily delete the ones we don't want.
Just to give you an idea how many pictures you might take at WDW: We took 1,200 pictures during our two-week vacation plus the 200 pics the Photopass Photographers took. We would have taken more pics ourselves if I hadn't know that I'd buy the Photopass CD anyways.
