| I use a Kodak 712IS. I just aim the camera at the food and the camera and flash seem to adjust fine!

| Most times I just get back away from the food, and set the flash to auto. Sometimes I put the camera into macro/close-up mode and leave the flash on auto.

| I usually leave the camera on auto - and either take the photo with the flash or without. I check the shot to see which works better.

| auto and if you have a feature for close ups, that normally works for me... but i don't take a lot of photos of food... lol

| if the flash ends up too bright on auto, I use the close up setting.
