Disney Photopass Question

I hope this makes sense and that someone can answer this question for me. I was in the midst of finally ordering my Photopass CD and it is telling me that I only have 170 pictures, but I uploaded an additional 450 pictures and added borders and things to them. I should have well over 600 pictures, but I'm afraid that if I order the CD, I will only get the 170 from my PhotoPasses. Are my additional uploaded photos automatically added or do I have to upload them a little differently? Thank you in advance!

Your PhotoPass CD will NOT include any of your personal photos that you upload.

It will also NOT include any of the "stock" photos from the PhotoPass web site that you might use in your photo albums or other projects.

It will ONLY include the pics taken by PhotoPass photographers, and the copies of those pics that you make when you add borders and graphics or crop them.

I didn't know you could add your own photos either but this is right from the photopass site:

Plus, we're excited to announce we have more magic than ever! Now you can upload your own photos and create some incredible Disney photo keepsakes including Disney's PhotoMovie, PhotoBook, and PhotoCards. So, get started creating your masterpiece today!

yes, notice PhotoCD isn't one of the products listed. You were 'always' able to upload your own photos but not for PhotoCD. Most recently, they allowed adding different borders to uploaded photos for PhotoPrints. mostly because the success of the PhotoCD made PhotoPrints seem like a good waste of money, so they had to create some new value.

Oh, I see now! (Duh!) I missed that the CD isn't listed. So sweetyface77 was able to upload them all for the prints and such and was able to add the enhancements but they will not be on the CD if I'm understanding it all now.

I'm new to this too... and have a follow up question...

If I upload my own pics to the site, add a border and some fancy something.. .do I just then download it back to my own computer? Because I don't get it on the cd, right?

AND How many pics does the cd hold, and if you have more than it holds, do you have to pay for another?

thanks! we're trying to decide if it's really worth it

Nope, you can't re-download your own pics. And no, they're not included on the CD.

Each disk holds 300 pics, but if you have 700 pics in your account, it will come on 3 disks (300+300+100), no extra charge.

that's been changed. the photos are now about 1MB each in size and they fill the CDs with them. a CD will hold upwards of 700 photos (although I say 500-700 to be on the safe side).

please read the link i posted above. it answers all these questions and much more.

ugh . . . wish I would have seen this before. I spent last evening adding the borders to my uploaded photos because I thought that they'd be on my cd. Thanks for the heads-up for when I do order, though!

from my site, on photoCD specifically:

Quote:
PhotoCD - This is the most popular and overall most cost effective option. You will receive all of your Disney's PhotoPass images (this does not include photos you have uploaded to the website or Disney stock photos) on CD as well as a license that you can print out and take with you to any digital photo processing center to order prints of any size at a drastically more affordable price than individual prints from Disney. You will get a copy of every Disney's PhotoPass image in your account, no matter how many CDs they consume. Each CD will contain a maximum of 500-700 photos (each CD containing multiple folders with 20 images each), so if you have 1200 images in your account, you will receive it on 2 CDs.

The images you receive on CD are in JPEG (.JPG) format and are roughly 6 MegaPixel in resolution, which while not on the cutting edge of digital camera technology, is usually quite sufficient for 8x10 and even larger prints. Actual pixel dimensions will vary, especially with images you may have cropped online.

Here, however, there is a significant difference between purchasing PhotoCD in the parks and online. In the parks, you are NOT able to add borders and enhancements to individual photos. While the parks used to allow this, it proved to be too time consuming for Cast Members to assist guests doing this. Only online are you able to enhance each photo by editing/cropping and adding border/enhancements. In theory, 100 Disney's PhotoPass photos can 'easily' be turned into 500 or more. So as you can see this can be a time consuming process - one you'll be glad you can put on hold and get back to later on every now and then.

The PhotoCD Price Structure is as follows:
Location Price Enhancements?
NYC World of Disney $49.95 Limited/No
Disneyland $79.95
(includes 3 5x7 prints) No
Walt Disney World $124.95 No
disneyphotopass.com Disneyland Photos Only - $79.95
Includes WDW or NYC WOD - $124.95
(or pre-order for $99.95 - see below) Yes
note that I'm under the impression that the DL version price was lowered to 59.95 and just haven't modified the site to reflect that yet.

and that's only a tiny fraction of the page.
