Camera tips on nikon slr's? Does anyone have tips on using an nikon slr camera at wdw? I bought my first one a month ago and am practicing with it. I love it but needs tips on taking photos at night? Over the 4th I was able to capture some fireworks but my camera wouldn't take them quick enough. Not sure if I am doing something wrong. I have the nikon d40.

I haven't been to WDW since I got my Nikon D40 - but I'm anxiously waiting to use it in November! My DH just bought the D40/D40x Digital Field Guide book and I've been reading through it. It has sections on how to shoot fireworks, low light/no light situation (hmmm, rides!), etc. I have lots to learn before November. But this might be a place you can find all of your answers too!

Where did you get that guidebook? I might have to check into it. I shot pictures over the 4th and some of them came out, but my shutter release was really slow. I need to work with the settings I think. The book that comes with the camera doens't go that much into depth with it.

We ordered from amazon. It seems to take you step by step through all of the settings. I just need to sit and read it with my camera in hand - the visual learner in me!

| If you need help... please feel free to PM me and we'll talk over e-mail off the board. I shoot all Nikon and can help you with some of your questions that are specific to your camera. A lot of what you posted here is less camera specific though and more general photography knowledge type of questions. But I can help you with the general concepts specific to your individual camera.
