keeping camera DRY on water rides

does anyone have advice? how did you do it, what did you try and worked or didn't.... I don't intend to have the camera out of the bag, I just will have it with me. I am thinking Splash Mountain, Kali Rapids, ?? others I have not ever gotten to go on the water rides previously, dd2 was too small (and screams a really high pitched blood curdling scream) when she gets splashed in the face.... Idea's??

i used regular old zippie bags (i'm pretty sure they were ziploc) and just made sure everything was covered in my bigger bag for added protection. worked fine for my small digital camera, cell phone and ipod.

I carry a small waterproof camera for water rides so I can use it on the ride!!! The other one gets put away in a locker.

I use the gallon Ziploc freezer bags as they are durable and waterproof. I also make sure that my camera is in the bag inside of my backpack. I have never had any problem with my camera getting wet.

you will most likely get soaked so use a Ziplock.

I use a modified Ziploc, which I turn into a camera poncho:
WillCAD Camera Poncho

I don't usually shoot from the bag, but it is possible:

My messenger bag is a water-resistant fabric, but I always wedge the camera inside the ponchos as well.

I just kept mine in the camera bag. On kali we used the center storage. Never had a problem with the camera getting wet.

I carry a couple kitchen-sized garbage backs in my pack. They also work great for kicking off your shoes and socks on Kali when the CM's aren't looking ;-)

Cheers

Ewa Marine has some nice bags that seal very well and have a lens mount that you can use to shoot through. I've seen plenty of snorklers use them for years. They're good to about 8-10 feet, so a splash shouldn't be an issue. Like everybody else, though, the big cameras get bagged.
